Has a computer simulator been created that models how stars form and behave in a galaxy?

I saw a star simulator that showed how star cluster in a galaxy. I'm assuming that there was imperfections in the stellar mass that caused small wobble over billions of stimulator years and gravitation attraction and inertia to produce a system. It kind of reminded me of the ants program.
