Well, they exist, but they aren't for sale, or at least, not yet. Most of them are either research, small and homemade, or just theoretical. I found a list of examples on http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Electromagnetic where they show a few examples and such. The closest implementation that they do have is with a magnetic starter in electric motors, found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_starter.
They plan to release them in Europe though.
