Totally Jedi.
It's the culmination of all that is Star Wars.
Empire was cool because it had the whole Han + Leia thing as well as Luke trainging to be a jedi (and the introduction of Yoda), however Jedi brought everything to it's final and awesome conclusion.
Still ,I see the merits of Empire - it's prety B.A.
Truth be told,I love them all dearly, but Jedi was is my fave because it finishes everything off nicely! I'm a big fan of "How the hell is this going to end??" And I thought Lucas did a fine job.

The Empire Strikes Back is widely regarded as the best of the Star Wars films.

I like much better The Empire Strikes Back because it actually has a plot. You discover vey interesting things and it is the first time we see Yoda. Return of the Jedi is a grand finale and nothing else.

Definitely "Empire". The directing is better for starters; Irvin Kershner understands character much better than George Lucas, and allows the actors the time and space to do what they need to do. Plus, it doesn't rely on little furry creatures for entertainment; it focuses instead on the story.
