What is the proper pronunciation of the Star Wars Vehicle, AT-AT? Is it A-T-A-T, or @-@?

Thanks for the answer - do you have any first hand proof of this particular pronunciation? I see that you reference AT-ST, but wanted to clarify the answer we are looking should be related to the AT-AT.

It's both... Initially it was called an @@. With the addition of the other imperial transport units that were not easily spoken like the ATAT, you had to pronounce the letters. First hand proof? My middle name is "Star Wars"...
