Mahalo is adding a tip to all questions that don't offer a tip.
A short 80s film. Plot revolves around a dinner party and a 'magicians' intriguing proposal. Anybody name it?
This is a tough one folks, very very obscure.
Back in the 80s as a teenager I saw a short film before a main feature at a cinema. Ive always remembered it, as it left a strong impression on me, but cannot find any reference to it on the Internet. Would very much like to find the director /writer etc, if anybody can at all remember the name of the film. Here goes :)
A well to do dinner party. A stranger 'magician' of sorts discusses an interesting proposal. He states he can make somebody vanish. Not just vanish, but de-exist them out of reality. It will be, as if they no longer existed, no memory of them would remain.
The party guests scoff, but take up his offer for amusement. He states, that he will dim the lights and when the lights come back, somebody at the party will have been 'removed from existence'. The process occurs. The lights come up, the party guests laugh as they dont sense anybody has been removed. The magician jests, that he was only joking.
But as an audience we see that the husband of a lady has indeed gone missing, even though she has not realised. The only hint is a sense of de-ja-vu that she mentions "something not being right"
The film probably ran for only 15 minutes, and Im hazy on more details. It was very well done, and as a teenager found it gripping. Would love more info.
Anybody else recall it?Long shot I know :)

IMDB has a "power search" option, but there don't seem to be any movies that fit your description. http://www.imdb.com/list
