They most certainly can, in fact they are very good climbers!
It depends on the texture. If it is slick metal, then no, but if it is stone or some surface like that then yes.
Depends completely on the surface. If their little claws can get a grip then yes. If it cannot then no. If the question is are they physically able than the answer is certainly.
I've seen many a trap simply be a plastic bucket with water in the bottom and a plank of wood leaning up to it. they can climb the wood fine but then have no traction on the sides of the bucket. The water drowns them after they get tired of swimming.
