I don't care if it's older than 10 years... people recognize it!
And don't anyone correct the title or I'll explode...

"Smooth" by Santana (this would be what I would pick for myself!)
"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor (who doesn't love this song!)
"Jump" by Van Halen (just don't do the flying splits without stretching!)
"Unbelievable" by EMF (another personal fav!)
"Walk This Way" by Aerosmith (Can you walk that way?)
"Rockstar" by Nickelback (Everyone wants to be a rockstar, no?)
Sorry, no links. I assume you know how to Google.;-)

"Love Reign Or'e Me" by the Who...beautiful chorus and amazingly powerful climax. Sample lyrics:
"Only love
Can bring the rain
That makes you yearn to the sky
Only love
Can bring the rain
That falls like tears from on high "
It might be a little bit too old for your consideration, however.
Another song I might suggest is "Glory Days" by Bruce Springsteen....terrific rousing Chorus.
I wouldn't want to play any of the more cliche Rock anthems such as Queen's "We Will Rock You" as they've been played out. I hope my answer was somewhat helpful

What is an "explosive" rock song full of energy?!?
Here's the situation: I'm going to be performing at an event. Before the performance, they introduce everybody. I need a rock song with a great hook and chorus that will be played when they announce my name (and read a little about me).
Any type of rock will do (soft rock, alternative, etc.), as long as it's catchy and *explosive!*
I want the audience to recognize it, so preferably it would only be 5-10 years old.
thanks!

I'll throw down a couple, and yes, I too struggled with finding gems that are newer than 10 years. It's the classic rocker in me. "Smooth" by Santana (this would be what I would pick for myself!)
"Eye of the Tiger" by Survivor (who doesn't love this song!)
"Jump" by Van Halen (just don't do the flying splits without stretching!)
