yes, sometimes a re-make can be better (to some people) than the original song. I've experienced that many times.
sometimes a re-make is so bad, it is like BAD BAD karaoke!! haha!!
The Will Young version has very clear instrumentals and a solid clear, clean voice.
The Jim Morrison version is edgy, sharp, faster paced and more wild.
It depends on the mood you want to create with these two. They are both artistically very good to my ear.

"Light my fire", which version do you prefer Jim Morrisons (from The Doors) or the cover by Will Young and why?
"Light my fire" was one of my favorite songs when growing up.
I love The Doors and Jim Morrison. I was absolutely blown away when I hears Will Young cover the song on Pop Idol in the UK.
Can Mahaloians help me, which version is better?
If you don't know either version, please INDULGE yourself!
