Actually, clarity enhanced or "treated" diamonds are usually of a lesser quality than similar diamonds that have not been treated. These treatments just cause stone to appear it is more expensive. Therefore, a clarity enhanced diamond might look like a diamond of a higher quality, but is not. Therefore, it is more important that you know whether a diamond has been treated than whether or not it has been. Otherwise, you could end up paying way too much for the diamond you picked out! In addition, treated diamonds may have to be treated in certain ways unlike that of an untreated diamond.
