Looking for great examples of interactive technology being used by museums and galleries
I am looking for effective examples of the use of interactive media to attract visitors to museums. Any kind of interactive media is of interest but especially games, simulations and haptics.

I strongly suggest that you contact the Indiana Historical Society, whose president is John Herbst. You might also look at www.indianahistory.org. Using the same designers who worked on the Spy Museum in D.C. the Indiana Historical Society has developed one of the most innovative plans for technology that will allow users access to close to 2 million images that the Society has. It also includes a visitor's experience that incorporates computer interactivity in a way that has never been done by any museum. The Society has done beta testing and is now planning implementation.

One of the best things about their displays is that they cater to a wide range of ages. Kindergardeners through adults will find some interesting things here.
If you happen to be responsible for the planning and implimentation of interactive displays, I highly reccomend that you take the time to travel to Ontario and visit the Science Center.
