Is there a windshield ice-scraper for us RSI injured techies?

If you have this pain, you'll know what I mean. Something with a handle like a shovel, not a tennis racket.

You are asking the wrong question. Get a windshield cover to prevent the ice/ snow, sleet from getting on the windshield to start with.

Do you have one? Can it be fabricated out of a plastic tarp or something? Or is it some type of special material?

I do not have a commercial product. I use an old bath towel. Pull the wiper blades up about half way and use them to hold it in place.

It is not perfect, but when the temp is 20 degrees, the wind is 20 mph and freezing rain is falling, it sure beats standing out in the weather with a scraper. It takes agout five seconds to remove it and throw it in the floor board.

I purchased Prestone Ice and Frost Shield today from Walmart. When you get out of your car, you just spray some on your windows, and when you return, you wiper or a snow brush should be all you need to remove the frost or snow.

For $5, it's worth a shot!

I like this idea for the ice in the morning, but I don't think it'd work on the 5" of snow I had on my car when I got to the park and ride after work today. Definitely sounds worth the $5 - Thanks

Methanol in a squirt bottle. You could even have it in your garden sprayer if your wrist is too wrecked to work a squirt bottle. Methanol is dirt cheap in bulk, and is sold under various names such as; gas line antifreeze, paint thinner, carbonol, wood alcohol, ethanol, and others. Yes it can catch on fire, but only if you use it near an OPEN flame. Cigarettes are not an open flame, btw.

I like this, but again this wouldn't work on snow, right? I think I'm gonna have to design this thing. Thanks for the great tips, guys

Oh I missed the snow issue with that solution. When I worked at a GM car dealership we removed snow with a leaf blower. Overkill I know...
