Regardless of the condition of your teeth do you believe in fluoridation in the public water system?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Oh, I don't know. Studies seem to indicate that people who live where fluoridated water is available have fewer cavities, but I'm always suspicious of studies that tell us putting chemicals into our bodies is good for us. I'd have to wonder if those people lived in an area where better dental care was available.

The AMA and other notable medical experts don't support claims for it:

Research studies can be skewed to get whatever results the researchers want, and all the FDA knows is what the researchers tell them. Now, studies must be submitted to a registry for their results to be considered for publication in major medical journals:

Fluoride is toxic to your body, so, uhm, no.

Each fluoride toothpaste will tell you this in the small print. And, if you swallow, you need to see a doctor. Read the small print!
