Recipes using dried figs?
A fig recipe you have created on your own or a fig recipe you have found online or in a cookbook that you have tried and thought was delicious would be great as well. Please do not just copy and paste any recipe using figs here, I would like to know about something you have tried in the past and have experience with.

i like to put dried figs in cereal and granola, and you can also add them to muffins or make your own meusli. Figs have been added to cookies and other pastries as well, but my favorite way to eat figs is wrapped in bacon as an appetizer. i learned of this recipe when my mom hired a friend who was just starting out in the catering business to cater her wedding. These were on the menu, and everyone loved them. The catering staff could not keep enough of them on the table. Everyone wondered what these were, what was inside of the bacon. Some people thought it was cocktail sausages, others said it was grape jelly with "something else." I loved it so much that I later went and asked her exactly what it was. I was very surprised to find out that these were figs.
To make figs wrapped in bacon, boil the dried figs in a saucepan with about a cup and a half of red wine. Add a bay leaf to this mixture, but remove it from the pan once the figs are finished cooking. (You can substitute red grape juice mixed with a little bit of red wine vinegar if you do not care to use the red wine.) Boil until the figs have softened, then simmer until you have a thick paste.
Cut bacon slices into thirds. In another saucepan, boil the bacon in water for about five minutes and drain. Cut each fig open and put a small piece of soft cheese in the center. You can use brie, feta, bleu cheese, or any other variety that you wish. Then, put a fig in the center of each piece of bacon and wrap the bacon around the fig. Hold in place with a toothpick and place on a baking dish. Cook at 400 degrees until the bacon is browned.
