I would like to think that the kids elected him to celebrate diversity within the student body as the news media are representing it. But without reading too much about it, my gut tells me it was kind of like "Vote for the Worst" is with American Idol...they thought it'd be a novelty and with the tradition of homecoming queen becoming less and less important to kids these days and I'm afraid they may have just done it as a lark...
