There's nothing we can say about Danyl Johnson that wasn't summed up perfectly by the most critically honest judge on reality TV:
“That was single-handedly the best first audition I have ever heard,” said Simon Cowell on a recent episode of Great Britain’s version of American Idol, The X Factor.
Johnson, a 27-year-old schoolteacher, brought the crowd to its feet with his rendition of the Beatles’ “With A Little Help From My Friends."
Diana Vickers, a semifinalist on the show last season, pretty much echoed Cowell's thoughts. Over the weekend, she Tweeted:
Looks like I'm gonna have to watch The X Factor after all! Lets see how this goes down... Eeeeeeeek. Teacher man was awesome... that's about it!

I do think that Cowell is very good at hyping his stuff. No wonder he needs a new attraction since Susan Boyle is so six-months-ago... and he is a master spinner.

It’s not just the live audience The X Factor has in common with Britain’s Got Talent. On the first show of BGT this year, a little known lady called Susan Boyle took to the stage and blew the judges and the audience away. On tonight’s X Factor, Danyl Johnson did the same thing.
Danyl is a 27-year-old teacher from Reading who walked on to The X Factor stage looking extremely nervous and a little uncomfortable.
He told the judges: “I’ve been teaching for the past 6 years and I really enjoy it but all students/teachers know it’s my passion. This is the biggest performance of my life, I’m so nervous to walk on that stage. It would be amazing to go back to school and make everyone proud.”
Unassuming, with a passion to simply sing, Danyl, just like Su-Bo, opened his mouth and stunned everyone in the arena, as well as viewers at home.

But the funny thing about the whole situation is that sensations come and go. They never leave a lasting buzz. If I had an option to become an overnight sensation or a long term, successful artist; I would definitely choose to be a success, long term artist.

Wow! Just saw it. I loved Susan Boyle but this guy is actually better! He is not only an amazing singer but he has a great stage presence. He had the crowd, he had the judges, he had everyone. He had all the moves. And the judges..It was like he made a personal connection with each of them. Looking each of them in the eye. . He had each judge smiling. He was amazing. Everyone loved him. Unlike Susan Boyle, he doesn't need any polishing with his image. He had everything right from the get go. I think he has a great future ahead of him and may even become one of the Greats!

Not sure if he has the buzz factor of Susan. She was a stay at home girl, with a peculiar look, and got a life makeover (literally). He's a more run of the mill kind of a guy. I do think that Cowell is very good at hyping his stuff. No wonder he needs a new attraction since Susan Boyle is so six-months-ago... and he is a master spinner.

Probably. The new Susan Boyle? X Factor contestant Danyl Johnson is already an internet hit, after his performance on the first X Factor show. As a songwriter/singer; I find it pleasurable to run into singers who can rock a crowd. If the most ignorant judge on T.V says that someone is great then by gosh I believe he just might be great. But the funny thing about the whole situation is that sensations come and go. They never leave a lasting buzz. If I had an option to become an overnight sensation or a long term, successful artist; I would definitely choose to be a success, long term artist.
