fallout 3 the pitt: fighting in the arena it says optional get ready for fight how do you do that??

I believe that optional objective is just to let you know that there are a few items inside the room with the arena entrance that you can take to make yourself prepared in case you aren't already. You can find some Rad-X on the table, a baseball bat, a lead pipe, and a pistol all located in the locker. I dont think you can actually complete the optional objective.
But then again, I'm just going off of personal experience so if anyone has found a way to actually complete the optional objective, please feel free to provide your input.
Anyway, the first fight is really easy and you don't need much else than your Auto-Axe or Assault Rifle to get through it.
