rapunzel, rapunzel let down your hair. Was this version of Rapunzel written by Grimm?
I would like to know the author of the above quoted Rapunzel fairy tale. It is my goddaughters favorite bedtime story. This story was read to me sixty years ago and I'm not sure that my verbal version is quite correct. It would make her and me very happy to have a printed copy.

Rapunzel was first written by the Brothers (Wilhelm and Jacob) Grimm in 1812. Subsequent revisions in 1819 and 1857 changed some details of the story, but the phrase "Rapunzel/Rapunzel/Let down your hair to me" appeared in all versions.
