Random Question: How do you organize your bookshelves? Paperbacks and HC separate? Pure alpha by author? Numeric within a series? Dewey Dec?

Tip for best answer: M$0.25
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

I break my books out by type (HC, Trade, Paperpack)... within that they are broken down by author and finally they are alpha by title (unless there is a series in which case the series comes before the rest of the books by that author)

I do it by author. All of their hardbacks and paperbacks are together. In one book case, I have the non-fiction, in another have the fiction, and in one special bookcase I have my favorite authors. I try to keep series together, for example Weber's Honor Harrington series, Flint's Ring of Fire series or Krentz's Arcane series.
