According to the article I found from 2005, about 36% of all Chinese people smoke. There are no laws against selling cigarettes to children, so children smoke there, too. At the time the article was published, a new commission had just been formed to try to discourage young people from smoking, and a law was in the process of being passed to add warning labels to cigarettes for the very first time.
