Is it possible to regain lost melanin in your skin?

I'm in remission for moderate psoriasis that was on my arms and legs. Lately, I've noticed discolored skin where the psoriasis was especially if I spend any amount of time in the sun. It's making my arm look like I've been playing in dirt. Has anybody else experienced this and do these scars ever go away?

there are several treatments used for vitiligo, which is an absence of melanin producing cells in an area of the skin, that might be helpful in your situation. None of these work perfectly, but each has been shown to have some level of effectiveness for some people.

#Narrow-band UVB therapy
#Trisoralen (trimethylpsoralen) (an oral medication)
#Oxsoralen (methoxsalen) (a repigmenting agents)
#Steroid creams
#Skin grafts (you're probably not interested in this, though!)

My condition isn't drastic enough for me to consider expensive medicine. You can hardly notice it unless I go in the sun. Have you experienced this condition yourself or do you know of anyone who has?

My sister has vitiligo, but not to the extent where she has pursued treatments. All of the research I found said that vitamins, moisturizers and herbal remedies were not effective at all-- so I'm not sure that there's a low key way to reverse the process, although I'd love to know if there is!
