Once you escape from Raven Rock at the end of the quest "The American Dream", all of your followers should be at their home base so to speak. In your case, Dogmeat will be waiting at Vault 101 and Jericho will be waiting back where you found him at Megaton.
You're free to explore the wasteland and complete sidequests up until you enter the Jefferson Memorial for the final part of the last quest, "Take It Back". Once you enter the memorial, you won't be able to leave until the quest is finished, and once the quest ends, the game ends as well.

Is it possible to retain your allies on Fallout 3 after you enter the final mission?
I own Fallout 3 on the PS3 and have been 2 missions from completion of the game for a long time.
I have been going around doing the side missions before I complete the game. I still have a few of these left and need to find all the bobbleheads but I decided to have a go at the penultimate mission, Finding The Garden of Eden.
I completed this mission and at the end of the mission you are taken in by the Enclave. Previously I had Dogmeat and Jericho as my allies and they had been following me, however as soon as I was taken by the Enclave they disappeared. This is very annoying because a lot of my guns and valuable items were stored with Jericho, which means that I have lost tonnes of grenades and scrap metal amongst other things.
So my question is, is it possible to retain these allies after this mission? My understanding is that once you escape the Enclave building you then go to the Citadel and join the Brotherhood of Steel to get Project Purity working.
My intention here is to save it and go and complete all the side quests before returning to the main mission to complete the game. I feel that it would very much help if these allies were still battling with me as I make my way through the Wasteland doing the missions.
Is there any way I can retain them afterwards? Thank you

Had a quick look at Megaton for Jericho before I went away on Friday and I couldn't see him, will go to Vault 101 and hopefully will be able to pick up Dogmeat :)
I saved before I fast travelled to The Citadel, at The Citadel and am currently outside the memorial ready to go in with the game saved.
I guess I'm in the perfect position to go and complete any remaining side missions and then return for the final mission.
Another question, with the bobbleheads, it says there's one at Raven Rock just before you leave in a small room, but the only two rooms I could find were both ones with doors which no longer operated.
Any help you could offer here?
Thank you
Here's a video for a visual guide on how to get it.
Hope that helps!
