Proxy server authentication problems with Firefox 3.6?

Firefox has been updating older versions to 3.6 in past day or two. My computers sit behind a university proxy server and immediately after the update I was authenticating to the proxy server at least once a page - often more than once. My network people could not find any troubles with proxy server or the network.

The only thing that changed was the new Firefox 3.6 so I installed 3.5.8 and the authentication problems seem to have gone away. Does anyone know if there is an authentication issue? I saw some cryptic posts in forums about 3.6 beta having some authentication problems but I couldn't tell if it applied to the released Firefox 3.6.

Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
