Problem with many duplicate Gmail contacts after iPhone 3.0 upgrade on a 3G phone...whats the EASIEST way to fix?
Separate topics with commas, or by pressing return. Use the delete or backspace key to edit or remove existing topics.
You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Hi Hamiltonfish,
Try this,
In contacts export all your contacts as an excel file.
Then follow the direction at:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel/HP100739431033.aspx
This will eliminate all the duplicate values in that excel file. Make sure that it contains all your contacts that you need. Go to google contacts and select all your contacts and delete all.
Sync the iphone and it should delete all the contacts on the phone because they are gone on Google. Then go into contacts and import your contacts excel file in which you removed all the duplicates.
That should do it. Should take 5 minutes.
