How can I get scanned or other non camera pictures to print on Canon's Selphy CP760 Photo printer?

I scanned in an old photo saved it as 100_9999.jpg and I want to print it on the CP760. The printer just shows a Question mark when trying to access the file. The printer manual says that the image has to conform to the Design rule for Camera File System Exif complaint and DPOF ver.1.00 standard. I've tried many programs to copy the Exif data from a camera picture to this scanned one but i haven't had anything work.

It sounds like you are using the Selphy to print directly from your camera's memory card.

If you plug the Selphy into a computer, you'll be able to print any image you'd like. Just print from an application like Preview.

The Selphy is sold at my work. We have it plugged into a Mac and have been able to print photos from OS X applications such as Preview.

Try moving the photo into a photo editing software such as The Gimp (free), Paint.NET (free), or Photoshop, and resaving it as another JPG, or as a PNG. Then try printing it.

Can the image be displayed in iPhoto or Preview (on the Mac) or in Irfanview (free) on Windows? If so, the image is good and there's a problem with the printer. If not (which is my guess, since the ? hints at that), you need to rescan the image or re-save it in your imaging program.
