The link you included in your question did not work for me. However, the link for the U. S. Census Bureau worked. Interesting page, I did not know that the Census Bureau may become an independant agency.
Anyway, to answer your question, I will fill out the form when I receive it. The information collected is not only important for the obvious reasons, determine funding, districts, etc. My brother does a lot of geoneology research and he has found a lot of information in the old files. I also like decisions to be based on the best information possible. By filling out the form I will be doing my small part.

And to be honest, she did not call for anyone else to do anything. She quite simply and clearly stated that this is what she was going to do, and even stated that she was NOT advocating or recommending that anyone else do the same. Listen here for that info:

However, it seems that Rep Bachmann's main opposition to giving information like her phone number and what time she (and everyone in her home) leaves and returns home every day is that ACORN was involved in the CENSUS.
ACORN has subsequently been shown (once again) to be involved in advocating and perpetrating illegal activities, and in fact, as Rep. Bachmann states on her web site ..."Democrats in Congress are finally wising up, voting overwhelmingly to stem the flow of your tax dollars to ACORN. The Census Bureau even severed its ties with ACORN for the 2010 Census. And, governors are cutting ACORN off in their states."
It seems The representative had good reason to not want ACORN to have access to her personal information, and a little civil disobedience is probably good for the soul.

Will you fill out the form from the U S Census Bureau when you receive it?
Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) has vowed not to complete her census form when she receives it from the U S Census Bureau (except for the number of persons in her household). She has been scolded by several conservative colleagues for her position. (http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/07/gop-congressmen-condemn-bachmanns-call-for-defying-the-census.php)

• I appreciated your opinion citing reasons that I hadn't factored in before.
Also, btw, I discovered why the link did not work: somehow, it got the "close paretheses" into the cite part. Delete that stray mark and the link will work.
Thanks also to keepontryin for a well-researched opinion on it. Even tho I had problems with some of the defense of Bachmann and the attack on ACORN, I appreciated the answer!

I will be filling mine out, just as I always have. And to be honest, she did not call for anyone else to do anything. She quite simply and clearly stated that this is what she was going to do, and even stated that she was NOT advocating or recommending that anyone else do the same. Listen here for that info:

thanks, keepontryin, for your answer. You raise some points that prompted me to listen to a bit more of the evolution of Rep. Bachmann's comments on the subject. So, I hope that you will permit me to respond to some of them.
1) While she did not explicitly call on followers to join her in breaking the law, she was undoubtedly advocating such behavior. Otherwise, as Megyn Kelly pointed out to her, she is in the law-making branch - she could try to change the law on what info people are asked to or required to provide. She has not.
2) She started out by claiming that ACORN was going to be out collecting census information. This was completely false. (They were one of hundreds of orgs voluntarily encouraging their members to fill out the census forms.) Bachmann was called out on this by fellow Republicans and conservative sites.
3) She further advocated and tried to inflame listeners when she noted that the government COULD end up using their information for all sorts of purposes, with the example that it was used in the 1940's to round up Japanese-American citizens into concentration camps. (Talk about taking the slippery slope argument to an extreme!)
I could go on. But, to reiterate: we have never been at risk of that dastardly ACORN controlling our census information.

Also, I've seen that Beck/Bachmann video, and found it interesting that Beck didn't go (far) down Bachmann's path on the census.
(Thanks for noting the broken link. I don't know what happened, but now I'll try to figure out how to fix it.)
