Ron Paul has said he hasn't ruled out a 2012 run (on the Republican ticket), but his age may prove to be a concern. He's a year older than John McCain, and if he theoretically won in 2012, he'd be 80 when he finished his first term.

He hasn't ruled it out but he is 73 and would be rather long in the tooth if he did run again. He will make a decision within the next six months so we will wait and see.

He may also seek to encourage a likeminded person who is younger to stand on a similar platform.
