Why are the average American so hostile towards China (or more specifically, its government)?

Or, if you beg to differ, why do you think China deserves various bashing from media, non-profit, Congress etc.?

The average american travels little, and does not have a world view.
I'm a american that has travelled extensively. China is really very
different culturally. Its go a different worldview, and has its own
xenophobia as well. So in a short answer it more of education, and
lack of cultural understanding.

Again, interesting. However, it is arguable that most of the world are less educated than US; they seem to be more....fair in terms of their views towards China. Does this suggest that lack of education=key to China-phobia is not the right conclusion?

Actually that is not true. Outside the US, education is viewed as "mandatory".
If you look in china, the average education is better than the average education in the US. In Singapore, KL, India, Malaysia, the education is broader. Growing up in the US, my history was on US/and European history.

Cultural issues:
1. In china there is alot of way to say "yes", half of them mean no. This
we find confusing
2. The rest of the world tends to have more of a world view. Most chinese
would do anything to have a US passport. Actually most of the world outside the US would say that. Where do americans want to go? There's no view to outside.

Also china is very "protectionist" as well. They have been somewhat a closed society for alot of there history. This also causes us to have issues
and problems.

For some americans they thing, oh the chinese are taking our jobs The reality is that the cost of manufacturing in the US is just to high. The good news is the cost of manufacturing in major chinese cities is now to high.
If I'm manufacturing, I'd do it in Batam Indonesia. US$100 per month.
Now people will be upset, because they think that your taking advantage of people. The problem is US$100 per month is 100,000 rupiah. Which is a nice
middle class living in Batam. You have to look in local terms what the money means.

We all want cheap goods, the problem is manpower for most things is the biggest cost.

McCarthyism-type propoganda.

It's just more of the "Government intervention EQUAL evil" crap stoked up by political partisans (typically US conservatives, but xenophobes are common throughout the US political spectrum).
