Which state is more corrupt: Louisiana or Illinois?

Illinois gets my vote. They've been corrupt as long as they've been a state.

I would have to say Illinois. They seem to have way more far corruption in their state more then any other state.

Louisiana.

Most of the corruption in Illinois occurs in the state capital where politicians are separated from their voters. There is considerably less corruption in Chicago where politicians actually have to answer to voters on some level. Corruption is generally more widespread in Louisiana. This speaks to the political culture and tolerance of corruption in each respective state. That being said, Chicago is far from clean (it is, afterall, one of the biggest economies in the world according to the CIA Factbook - comparable to many countries)
