Personally, I think politicians are over reacting "I don't think the citizens of my state want these terrorists on our streets"

They won't be in the streets, they will be in prison. I think American Prison system is perfectly capable of handling violent terrorists, at the end of the day they are just like other violent criminals. Some politicians are making them out to being master villains, throw em in your high security prison, give'em the amount of years acceptable for their sentence (once they figure that out) and deny them parole for life if you think they are still dangerous.

Anyway...The American Prison system is #1 in the world (it is) there is no need to continue exporting these guys to "secret prisons" or other countries, I think the closer they are being watched the better, why send them to siberia? so the russians can decide their fate.

Guantanamo has a mixture of POW's and criminals. The criminals should be tried in US courts. The POW's should be given all the protections of the Geneva Conventiona.

The problem with Guantanamo is the US government has defined a brand new category which is neither a POW or criminal. This third category should be forever eliminated.

Base upon the publicly available evidence so far, they are very few terrorists at Guantanamo.
