A corrupt Chicago Political Machine Politian? I dont believe it. /sarcasm
The feds do not go after sitting officials at that high level unless they have to. There is all kinds of stuff that he is linked to Tony Resco and cronies they didnt bust him for but I would guess there will be charges as soon as he leaves office. The fact that they arrested him while in office says tons especially a Dem procecutor and a Dem Governor.
This is probably the biggest reason he does not want to leave office as I will bet within a month of him leaving there are more charges brought against him. Especially since once he loses power the whistleblowers will likely come out of the woodwork.

1. He knew he had strong political rivals, he should have assumed his phones
were tapped.
2. He didn't need to be so overt about his sweetheart deal, his accomplices could have picked up on the idea that he wanted cash, without having to say it.
3. He seemed to be overally anxious about his ability to raise money due to the new Illinois Campaign contributions law. His rush to raise as much money before the new law took place raised eyebrows.

Seeing this situation as it pertains to President Elect Obama makes it national news bigger than it would have been previously I believe that the media has played a significant role in the 'cracking' of this case. I hope he sees jail!
"Blagojevich, arrested Tuesday on charges alleging that he sought bribes for everything from Obama's Senate seat to state jobs and contracts, met with a prominent defense attorney Sunday but stayed largely out of sight and made no comment about his situation.
In his absence, leading Democrats and Republicans jockeyed for position in a growing battle for the two biggest prizes in state politics: the office of governor and a seat in the U.S. Senate."

Do you think that Governor Blagojevich is guilty of corruption?
What other charges do you agree or disagree with?

Oh, I think he is. Where there's smoke there's fire. However, whether they can find the fire or not is another thing entirely. And the court is going to want to see pictures of the fire with him in the frame in order to convict him. In other words, even his own hearsay evidence isn't enough to nail him.

Well, the prosecutor in known for being non political; he would not take a risk with a governor without proof, he seemed genuinely revolted by the whole thing. the small pieces of tape we heard are frankly horrifying, the attitude of the Governor since then has not been straight, his quoting Kipling reminded me of Timothy McVeigh poem about being such a great guy after killing hundreds of people, so yes, I have a suspicion that he might be guilty.

Absolutely, corruption and Illinois go hand and hand. It is a difficult situation but a peek into what goes on in political offices all over the country. Seeing this situation as it pertains to President Elect Obama makes it national news bigger than it would have been previously I believe that the media has played a significant role in the 'cracking' of this case. I hope he sees jail!
