1,913 Senators
11,545 + U.S. Representatives
111 Supreme Court Justices
Since 1789, there have been a total of 1,913 Senators (only 38 of whom have been women), as of the current 111th Congress, which is in office from Jan. 3, 2009 - January 3, 2011.
As for the House of Representatives, one resource I found quoted the number as 11,545 people who have served in the House. Please not that these figures were as of June, 1998. So in the last 11 years, there have been some additions! If you're really bubbling with curiosity for the exact current figure, here is a resource to directly ask the House of Representatives Historian!:

Supreme Court Justices, there have been quite a bit fewer! Only 111 (as of Sonia Sotomayor). 17 of those have been Chief Justice. You can see the complete list here.

In the history of the US, how many people have been a Senator?
I realize that we have 100 senators in a typical senate class. But, since the beginning of the institution, how many people have served as a US Senator? If you can also answer the same info for the House of Representatives and the US Supreme Court, I'd appreciate it! (I got the Presidents covered.) This is not a school project, I am just curious.

That wiki answer links to another webpage which has various listings, including the senators of the Confederate States of America, which is probably why that figure you quoted is so much higher than actual US Senators.
