For these people being in the media is a career. I would think some of what they say is from the heart, it has to be :) But some is for the media attention and to start discussion or debate.
That last point is important - if we didn't have people mentioning and encouraging debate many of these issues would remain away from the public eye and we wouldn't even know some of the issues exist. By having media attention focused on these things we hopefully have rational debate....well, thats what we hope for anyway :)

I believe that most media pundits believe in what they say, but their beliefs are flexible in that they can change their beliefs in different situations. You can not be a media pundit if you have strong beliefs on topics which don't change based upon circumstances.

Do you think pundits like Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh actually believe what they say, or are they only entertaining their audience?
Chances are, you have to be smart to make it into positions like that... It's just some of their publicly held beliefs, and their actions don't quite add up to what a rational being would say. You'd think someone that smart would know that a "living will" is a good thing but there Rush goes calling it a death panel. I don't buy it. I think he is just a really, REALLY good actor that only cares about his paychecks and will say anything to get them. Don't get me wrong, these people are on the left, too... Michael Moore is a great example.

I must tell you my situation is very serious and the media and newspapers refused to help me with corrections of their reports and reporting the proper things. A pundits reporter contacted me for my information and evidence. I am so grateful to them as they have not only got the story part 1 out but they did their proper investigation of the information and found more than I even had. They have made sure they have had proper documentation and proof as I when writing up on this issue. The pundits I am dealing with are doing this with great expertise and initially told me straight out if my information and evidence wasn't good enough for them to follow up on they would but it is and they are. Part 1 has already been printed with great response.
