Are there instances where it is claimed Harry Reid wasn't Majority Leader in 2008?

Harry Reid got elected as Majority Leader, first time on November 14, 2006.
His term started on January 03, 2007 - 12:00pm
and ended on January 03, 2009 - 12:00pm

He got re-elected on November 18, 2008 for the term from January 03, 2009 - 12:00pm to January 03, 2011 - 12:00pm.
