How to deploy star power on Guitar Hero World Tour with Rock Band drums?

Without having the cymbals from the Guitar Hero kit.. How do you do it? My kids have done it, but they don't know "how" and I can't figure it out either.

Ummm... We're not talking about Rock Band bernices. In Guitar Hero, it's the top two pads (as offthedome says) that represent cymbals...
