Is the Everett-Wheeler interpretation of quantum mechanics correct?
In short: do we live in a Sliders multiverse? Or are we in a mere limited 'single-threaded' universe? (and if the latter, then how do you explain the 'double slit' experiment?)

Its unlikely, given how quickly we go through scientific theories on the cutting edge of research. For a possible explanation of the double-slit experiment in a single-threaded universe, I would suggest reading Feynman's theory. A summary of it as I understand is that he believes that particles see every possible path they may take, and in the double-slit case, see the possible interference patterns, and determine probabilisticly based on this knowledge where to go. Its difficult to explain without an entire book, so I'd highly suggest reading Volume 3 of The Feynman Lectures on Physics.
