Asker's rating:
It was tough. Especially @buddawiggi's brilliant suggestions - but I really loved @tealmyster's photo of the moon and Venus!

The first (Picture of the Moon with Venus) is beautiful and I really like the red mist-like last photo.

Here is a great photo of a likely creation scenario of our moon. Photo credit MSNBC.

Here is a creepy moon photo from Crestock.com

This is a sample of what is in this Flickr collection. Check out all of these.

If you're looking for a picture of the moon as seen from earth, then this one is as sharp and archetypal as it gets.

Notice how you can see what looks like a hare as seen from above, with its head pointed to 11:00, with two fat ears sweeping down towards 04:00, and how it seems to be holding a big fat egg.

That's the origin of the Celtic myth of the March Hare, that would carry and hide eggs, and which got adapted into the story of the Easter Bunny hiding eggs at Easter.

If you're looking for a picture of the moon from on high, close enough to the moon to see it with features, then this is a classic:

And if you're looking for a pic of the moon as seen from the moon's surface, this gives a better feeling for what it's like than most any other pic.

Great answer! Except, I think I didn't clarify myself...I'm looking for photos from Earth mostly, which look very intriguing.
