What lenses should I buy?

I have a nikon d300 with no lenses, I plan on traveling around the US shooting mostly National Parks, I would like to balance quality and cost, trying to keep the total for all lenses under $1500, closer to $1000 even better.

First, only buy nikon lens. I've tried the others, and you only
get good quality with nikon.

First, get you a good wide-angle lens.

Second is a more wider range zoom, for wildlife.
or if you want one size fits all.

The third pick would be to add a fast 50.
This is a amazing lens. Will let you get great twilight shots,
and shoot with a lot less worry of light.

Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR = $1,629.88

This is a superb quality lens.

There's a lot of information that you didn't really provide when asking the question. Wide-angle? Telephoto?

f2.8 lenses are generally good. The Tamron 17-50/2.8 is sharp and relatively distortion-free, though it feels a bit cheap. The Nikon 80-200/2.8 - either the AF-S or AF-D versions - is an excellent, sharp telephoto, though a bit heavy.
