I second the point about the apps available for the iPhone... but allow me to demonstrate the thoroughness of the point. Another thing to consider is that while the other phones offer the functionality of the iPhone, they don't do it AS WELL as the iPhone 3G or 3GS. With a smooth form factor, bright screen, and functionality as an iPod (complete with instant downloading of tunes from iTunes while you're ANYWHERE), the iPhone can be a very hard device to compete with... allow me to demonstrate by giving you a snapshot of a day in the life with my iPhone.
I have an iPhone. In the morning, it's my alarm clock, thanks to the fact that I can control the volume on it better than I can my actual alarm. I can make sure that I wake up without waking up my entire house. My actual bedside alarm clock has been relegated to a "backup", that I've never needed.
As I get up in the morning, I flick to the flashlight app I downloaded for free. The iPhone's bright white screen provides adequate illumination for me to make my way through the bedroom without waking up my wife any further, and I head into the master bathroom.
While I'm in the master bathroom, shaving and otherwise doing the "morning routine", I click to Safari and browse over to my Gmail account, checking my e-mail before I'm even out of the bathroom in the morning. I can type full replies on the large on-screen keyboard.
As I drive to work, I plug a radio transmitter into the bottom and listen to my podcasts while driving. Very important since I live in Japan and English audio is hard to come by on the radio.
At work, I can plug the iPod into my computer speakers and listen to music while I work. My wife can get a hold of me an instant through the best texting system I've ever seen.
The point is... while I'm certainly not a big fan of the Apple company, and I never even really liked the iPod, the iPhone has turned out to be a great investment for my family and I. My wife has one, too.... I just don't remember what life was like before these great do-it-all devices.

Why most of the people say that Apple iPhone is the best mobile available ?
I have seen in many web sites and many mobile phone forums, that iphone is the best phone available in the market. But I have this doubt that how can that be .. ?
There are mobile phones like Samsung Omnia HD, Nokia N97, Sony Ericsson Xperia which offers you with most of the features the iphone has plus more like better cameras when compared with iphone.
So what makes the iphone best ... or in your opinion why ..? Do you think it is the best .. or what is you choice as the best mobile phone available so far ..?

What are the positive and negative features of the iphone ..?

Other phones may have better hardware... but it is very VERY hard to compete with the number of apps available for the iPhone. Other phones don't have the functionality that the iPhone has because of the app store. Also, with the shear number of iPhones in the market, developers are going to keep building stuff for the iPhone because that's where the most customers are. The MyTouch 3g that runs the Android operating system is close-- but the app store still brings more functionality, the iPhone has better specs, and ATT *gasp* has more 3g wireless coverage than T-Mobile.

Now never in a million years would I keep that old wm handset today, but Apple did the 2 things that Microsoft never did. 1)They made it usable out of the box. With no need to read the manual. 2) And then they spent a HUGE amount of money telling people how great it was.
If the only did 1 of those 2 things it would have failed... or at least not succeeded in the same way that it has today.
There are lots of phones that are better in individual ways. Lots with better battery, better screen resolution, more flexable apps, better email management, better keyboards.... you could even make a case for better browsers.
But Nothing comes close to the combination of user support/features/design/integration that the iPhone has today.
Still, if it doesn't meet your needs there are a lot of worthy alternatives out there.
