Is it better to live fast and die young or live slow and die old?
To go into more detail, do you think it is better to live a lifestyle that is fun, but may be harmful and/or risky and lead to an earlier death, or a lifestyle that is boring, but safe and will ensure a longer life? Explain why you think which is better.

It really depends on how you are and where you live. In a country with a low life expectancy, it is probably better to like fast and die young, having lots of fun on the way, experiencing as much as you can with as little downtime as you can. But, if you live in a country with a higher life expectancy, it is probably more worthwhile to try to live as long as you can, especially if you live in a clean, safe environment. You can experience things at a slower pace, but acquire and share advice and information, maybe even make a new discovery or change someone else's life.
For me, I would much rather live a long, boring life doing community service, helping others, and bettering society than life a fast-paced, short, selfish life. (I say selfish because it seems to me that "fast" living would be only doing things for myself, such as skydiving or rock climbing, instead of things for others)

Lots of good answers here. Thank you to everyone who participated in the question.
To live slow and die old because you should live a full life. Experience pleasant things such as travel, family and hobbies. If you die early you experience things but not as much as the person who lived a longer life. Living longer also make you more experience and more knowledgeable about life. It gives you the opportunity to pass on something to the younger generation.
To live forever or die trying. Experience has no time limit or expiration date. I've known people that have lived a full life in 30 years and others that haven't in 65.
LIVE SLOW & DIE OLD, SO THAT I CAN ENJOY EACH MOMENT AND REALLY APPRECIATE IT!
live fast and die young.
i prefer this.
but one should ensure that they live each moment and have no regrets later.
i would prefer my selves dying young cause i would be been independent rather on depending on many during old ages due to sickness and disease.
A fun life isnt harmful but maxing it out is risky.
Booze,Fast foods,Cigars may sound fun while around with friends, but they indeed reduce ur precious lifetime.
A safe path doesnt mean one will be boring either and one cant prove it gives long life either.
Still i prefer "live fast and die young" treaded on the safer side.

Very good question, especially since not all that live fast die young and the same is true for the flip side of the coin. From experience, I have delved into a little of each, did a little fast living and settled early, then let life move me from there, with a bit of small resistance against the flow.
I believe in doing so, I have learned much from the experiences and has created a bit of wisdom for those coming up behind myself and provides for some pretty awesome memories... both good and bad.
Since the human body and mind go through changes approximately every seven years, mellowing is going to come naturally, but it sure has been good to have lived a bit on the edge and now I am content to live the rest of my life smiling, with a small smirk of knowing!
