There are great rescues all over the country. You can look on Petfinder.com or google Lab Rescue.
Labs are great dogs, but, like every dog, a Lab requires a serious commitment of time, energy and training. If you can provide the basic needs, training and good, stable environment, you should have a great experience with your dog.
Good luck!

NOT TO BUY FROM A PET STORE!! Or an ad in the paper (even if they claim to have AKC papers). There are great rescues all over the country. You can look on Petfinder.com or google Lab Rescue.

I have a chocolate and she is awesome, but she requires work, daily training to keep her brain working, stimulating toys (intelligent toys), swimming, balls to play fetch, walks and she drools. But I wouldn't trade her for the world! All pets are a commitment and please adopt, just like lauragonzo said. You can find a great friend, young or old, by adopting! Most of them are already potty-trained, too! visit www.petfinder.com or www.pets911.com for rescues near you!
