Mules, being closely related to horses probably should avoid this list of plants too (which are listed as toxic to horses)

The Poisonous Plants section on "Wilderness Expeditions" lists a group of plants that donkeys (closely related to mules) should avoid. These include Cooktown Ironwood Tree, Gympie Bush, Yellow Oleander, Coffee Senna, Rattlepod and Indigos. There are several more so you should look at them all for a detailed list.

This may not be a comprehensive list, but the following plants are known to be poisonous to mules: Oleanders, laurel, Japanese Yew, Red Maple trees, black cherry and black locust, Locoweed, Sorghum grasses, and Ryegrass are poisonous.
