They already do in their own ways. Body language, inflection of vocalizations, how and what they are eating, who they want to be around and energy level for instance. You learn what each individual animal is conveying.

As far as actual speech, I think they would have a different take on the world, the same way children view everything with a different vision than an adult does.

I am guessing they might have a lot to teach us. It would be interesting to find out.

My dog would have a heck of alot to say.
She would probably tell me all about what the kids do to her when I am not watching!!
Then the Turtle would be complaining about all the crap we feed it.

That would be awesome and it would be a heck of a lot easier to take care of them...it wouldn't be a guess of why he is meowing...they would be able to say HEY LADY! I'm hungry here where's my food....I think it would be a lot better...And they could call us if something was wrong at the house or someone got hurt and couldn't reach the phone...

I think it would be awesome if my dogs could talk. Especially when they wake you up in the middle of the night for no apparent reason. I am sure they would have a heck of a lot of say between the 3 of them.

I wish! I have a very scared cat that I adopted and she licks all her fur off. Seriously, her tail at one point was a stick. She's perfectly healthy, just hates people. I even once went to a pet psychic on the advice of someone else. I paid 75 dollars for every unhelpful advice. She said she contacted my cat and my cat complained about dust.

I thought there was something wrong with her. My Vet told me it was stress related, and that she's healthy. The pet psychic told me she was healthy but my house was too dusty. Well, I don't think I would like my pets to talk. They would probably complain that the other dogs got bigger bites of food or whine that another wouldn't give her toy back or let her on the bed. I got enough grandkids running around here whining and complaining as it is. I don't need dogs joining in.
