My dog, Buster, is a Llasa Apso and I swear sometimes I think he is a human inside of a dog's body. I smoke outside so if I say let's go outside he heads for the right door and as soon as I put my cigarette out he is by the door ready to go inside. If you tell him to eat his food, he will go eat his food. If ask him if he wants to go for a ride, he tilts his head and barks as if to say yes. If someone pulls up in the driveway he pulls down the blinds and looks outside. If ANYONE comes near me while I'm sleeping he will bark to wake me up and if I don't then he will start tapping me on my face. He knows where EVERYTHING is located so if something is out of place he will stare at it for a while to make sure it's okay. The most amazing thing that he does is he WILL WAKE ME UP WHEN MY SUGAR IS LOW! Being a newly diagnosed diabetic I sometimes can't even tell when my sugar is low, but he can. Even when I am sound asleep he will wake me up and 9 times out of 10 when I go and check my sugar after he wakes me up IT IS LOW. I found this so amazing so I went online and did some research and there is a place in California that you can go to and get a dog to know you and know when your sugar goes low. But there is A LOT of training involved and you have to live in California with them and it is VERY expensive. I knew dogs could sense emotions but there must be something else that he is sensing that tells him to wake me up, which by the way, when he wakes me up for a low blood sugar he taps me on my leg, and I know this is unbelievable but that is where I give myself my Insulin shots. I've got a health nut for a dog and I love him dearly. Sorry I blabbed on so long. Oh one more thing he does is if he sees a Palmetto bug ( I live in FL) he flips it upside down so it cannot move and then he looks at me to pick it up with a paper towel and flush it.
