Hi, Wow a very exciting decision - a new puppy.
Here are the AKC breed standard temperament descriptions of the two types of dogs, keep in mind that each breed will have variations among individuals:
Boston Terrier:
---Quote---
Temperament
The Boston Terrier is a friendly and lively dog. The breed has an excellent disposition and a high degree of intelligence, which makes the Boston Terrier an incomparable companion.
---/End Quote---

French Bulldog:
---Quote---
Temperament
Well behaved, adaptable, and comfortable companions with an affectionate nature and even disposition; generally active, alert, and playful, but not unduly boisterous.
---/End Quote---

Both breeds require little grooming and only moderate to little exercise. But as all dogs do, they will require solid socialization (with all kinds of people and other dogs) and obedience training to become polite canine members of the family :)
If you are interested in a pure bred pup, the AKC web site can help you to learn more about each breed and to find breeders.
How about adopting a little puppy dog guy or girl!
Many specific breed rescue organizations can help you find that special puppy or young dog - many AKC registered or pure bred dogs that need a second chance are waiting for new forever homes. Please consider looking into these sites as you make your decision about your new pup:
Boston Terrier Club of America - Breed Rescue Information
http://bostonterrierclubofamerica.org/index.htm
French Bulldog Rescue
http://www.frenchbulldogrescue.org/htdocs/available.html
Another great pet adoption website is Petfinder. Here you can specifically search on a breed type and location or range and see the available pets waiting for new families! Some are pure bred some are mixed breeds.
Here's a link to Petfinder, I did an example search on Frenchies near LA:
http://www.petfinder.com/search/search.cgi?pet.Animal=Dog&pet.Breed=french+bulldog&pet.Age=&pet.Size=&pet.Sex=&location=LA
Contact the Humane Society and local shelters and rescue groups also, if you let them know the breed you are looking to rescue they will be happy to contact you if a dog or litter of puppies is surrendered that fits your description.
Some really cute little guys are ready for a new home right now!
Good luck to you, take you time and pick the right dog (not just breed) for you.

Well, it all depends what you like in a dog.
Here's a great site (Your Purebred Puppy) that explains the advantages and disadvantages of French bulldog puppies: http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/frenchbulldogs.html
The biggest problem seems to be their health. French bulldogs may struggle to breathe in humid climates, so where you live may be a factor in your choice.
The same website also has a page on the advantages and disadvantages of getting a Boston terrier puppy: http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/reviews/bostonterriers.html
Seems these dogs are generally good natured but are hard to housebreak.
If you choose to consider another breed, go to this page: http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/dogbreeds/index.html
Here you will find reviews on 180 different types of dogs.
Good luck with your search!
