Not sure what area you are in, but it's a good idea to check out the breeder's reputation before purchasing one. We made the mistake of failing to do so when we traveled to another state to purchase our Miniature Pinscher. He was only supposed to weigh 6 lbs fully grown but ended up weighing about 18 pounds. A day after we purchased him, we also found out he had kennel cough and was very sick, so we ended up paying a hefty vet bill. However, we immediately fell in love with him and wouldn't have traded him for a different one, but we learned a big lesson from that experience.
