In my experience, the thunder usually comes too fast to administer any medication... and can be gone in a flash too.
I have had one chihuahua in my life so far that really didn't like thunder or fireworks.
I didn't use the brand 'Thunder Wear', but I did purchase a small heavy vest for him to wear that helped 90%.

I have found that pressure and weight on ANY body (myself included) when the senses are over stimulated or stressed, helps to calm and relax.
Since I'm a Massage Therapist, I have studyed the benefits of pressure and weight on the body and found benefits that are too numerous to mention!
