I don't think wolves in the wild have toothbrushes nor do wild cats, so I don't brush my animals teeth.
Rather I provide them with the things animal in the wild would use to clean their teeth.
Feeding a pet raw meat and giving them bones to gnaw in most cases eliminates the need for brushing. In fact, from personal observance is removes more plague than trying to wrestle your dog or cat to brush their teeth. (Most pets don't enjoy it much.)

I do brush their teeth. Not every day, just once in a while.
I do that because if a dog tooth has tartar, the gum will bleed and infections will appear.
So yes, using a toothbrush on your pet is a good thing.

If your pet's kind and sweet, like it don't bite or don't get irritated right away, I guess you can try brushing it's teeth. But if not, just try other solutions like for dogs the chew bone that can freshen up their breath.
I had one neighbor before who brushes her cat's teeth. I think it's easier for her because her cat's friendly. There's no harmful effects though in brushing cat's teeth. I think it's even healthier for the pet.

Brushing a pet's teeth is a good idea though you must be cautious of your pet's reaction towards this especially if it's your first time brushing it's teeth. I have cats at home but I haven't tried brushing their teeth. :( I think they'll just get annoyed that can lead to them scratching or biting me. If your pet's kind and sweet, like it don't bite or don't get irritated right away, I guess you can try brushing it's teeth. But if not, just try other solutions like for dogs the chew bone that can freshen up their breath.
