Anyone know if alpaca guard sheep in same way llamas do? Dont suppose it really matters but i have never had a pet look down on me before.

Apparently YES, Alpaca do make very good guardians for flock animals, just like Llamas do. However, primarily as protectors against smaller predators (fox, coyote) and not as sole defenders against packs of wolves or wild dogs.
