Which plants?
Indoors, move the plants out of the way. Spray leaves with Grannick's Bitter Apple for Plants.
Outdoors, cordon off the plants and don't leave your Bull Mastiff outside alone so he can do it. He's tearing them up because he's bored. Give him plenty of toys and chews and when you catch him, substitute a toy or chew instead.

I once read about someone buying hot peppers and squeezing some of the juice on them. It will keep animals from getting near your plants.
