Pets have been known to save many lives, do you know of an instance?

Tip for best answer: M$0.50

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.

Willie, a Quaker parrot, saved a little girl last year by alerting her mom that she was choking--great babysitter!

My Irish Wolfhound saved me about 9 years ago. I had just moved into a new house after separating from my husband. On our 2nd night there, my dog woke me by nudging me with his nose and whining. I woke and could hear someone at the back door. I called 911 and the police caught the guy about 2 blocks away. He had tools on him that he was trying to open my back door with. If my dog hadn't woke me, he may have gotten in the house. On another occasion, my brave boy thwarted a break in when an intruder came onto the enclosed patio. My 150 lb dog dropped this guy like a bad habit. He ran off and wasn't caught, unfortunately. My dog has passed on after living a very full 16 years, longer than this breed usually lives.

Animals have great senses and protection is one. You should be so proud of your dog and even though he has passed I'm sure he still looks over you and you carry him in your heart forever.

This dog received an award for biting onto owner Kevin Weaver’s cell phone to call 911 after the diabetic man had a seizure and collapsed.
That's pretty awesome!

It is really amazing that the dog did a Heimlich manoeuvre ! :O

I had a german shepard that save two live on two different occasions. she used to visit my neighbors in the back every morning for a treat, one day she came back right away and wouldn't leave me alone. I kept opening the door for her to go out and she would look at me like aren't you coming so I followed her to the neighbors and found the woman lying on the floor in the house she had been sick and didn't see a doctor finally going unconscious from her illness, called an ambulance and was okay. After a serious car accident I was in the night I came home from the hospital I was hearing a tin canny sound outside I though my cat was stuck on the roof, all medicated and barely able to move I opened the front door looking up at the roof putting my arm up for the cast to climb down on I didn't see the bear that was in my trash, it walk right up to me and the dog puched me away and chased the bear away. They have a great sense of protection.
